This document will show you how edit prices and add items within the POL Rate Card.
To access the POL Rate Card you should go to the below from within Prohire:
- Tools > Setup > Display POL Rate Cards > Manage Card
Adding an Item to Rate Card Items
Now that you have accessed the Rate Card, you will be able to expand the ‘Rate Card Items’ section and click the ‘Add Items’ button to add additional items.
Rate Card Items are normally items that you would like to enable to customer to add to their booking as optional extras (i.e.. Additional Drivers, CDW, Sack Trolleys, etc.). Items added within the Rate Card Items will affect all vehicle groups that do not already have the item selected against them.
In the screenshot above I have selected the Additional Driver item.
Price Per Day Setup
I am now going to add the price so that it charges £5 gross per day when selected by the customer. To do this, I click the first spot on the timeline:
Once added, this will now charge the customer £5 per day when selected against their Proweb quote.
Price Per Item Setup
If you would like to charge the customer a price per item, as opposed to price per day then you can do this by adding the item as before and then clicking the drop-down arrow to the right of the timeline and then select ‘Set Rate Per-Item’.
I can then choose the amount I would like to charge for the additional driver item. This would be a one-off price that the customer would pay for the item. For example, in the below example I would like to charge the customer £30 for an additional driver as a one-off.
Item Settings (Web Optional / Default Quote Items)
You can amend the settings within the item by clicking on the Item Name within the rate card:
Description: The name of the item that will be displayed to your customer when booking online through Proweb.
Default Quote Item: You can tick this box if you would like to add this item to the quote by default – the customer will not be able to remove this item from the quote. This can be useful when imposing a Mileage Allowance.
Web Optional: When this is selected, the customer will be able to add this item to the booking at the quote stage. This is useful for optional extras such as Additional Drivers, CDW or Sack Trolleys etc.
Max Number of Items Per Quote: This controls how many of the selected items the customer can add to the booking. An example could be that you allow a maximum of 2 additional drivers per booking, or the customer is able to select CDW as a single option.
If you enter 1 in this box then a tick box will be shown to the customer, 2 or more will mean a drop down is shown on the Extras page against that item within the Proweb booking process.
