Partial payments can be integrated into Proweb via “Partial Payment Rules.” These rules allow you to configure a setup that gives the customer the option to pay the booking amount in full or partially.
To get to the ‘Rules’ section, in Prohire navigate to Tools > Setup > Display POL Rate Cards. Enter your username and password if required. This should open the Rate Cards tab within POL Setup. Simply click the ‘Rules’ button against the active Rate Card (highlighted below)
Below is an example whereby a partial payment rule is being applied if there are less than 2 vehicles available within a Group.
- The rule must be given a suitable “Name” that indicates what the rule will do & what it is based on.
- The rule can have multiple “Triggers” configured, on this example the trigger is where there are less than or ‘up to’ 2 vehicles available & this applies per Group. For instance, if Group A had 4 vehicles available for the requested dates, no partial payment option will be displayed. If Group B has 1 vehicle left available for the requested dates, partial payment option will be displayed.
- The final part of the rule is the “Action” that will be applied based on if the “Triggers” of the rule are met. On the above example, a partial payment of 10% is required. If 10% of the booking amount is less than £10, a minimum amount of £10 will be required to be paid. Likewise, for the maximum amount £50, if 10% of booking amount is more than £50, this rule will cap the required amount to be paid at £50.
