Tracker – How to import trackers into POL

This document will show you how to import trackers to POL when we have received a new batch.

  1. Firstly, you must ensure you have the Excel file containing the list of trackers that have been received. Wireless Logic usually send this through when an order has been placed. Email orders@wirelesslogic.com to request this if not.
  2. Next, navigate to Onedrive - Prohire Software Systems Ltd Team Site - Documents\Support Team\Tracker\Import List and copy the most recent file and rename it to “Tracker Import [Type] [Todays Date]” for example “Tracker Import (FMT100) 2023-02-09”.
  3. Open the spreadsheet that Wireless Logic have sent us and remove column E - usually titled “MAC.” This is not required in our file that will be imported so can be deleted.
  4. Next, copy all the rows from this spreadsheet into the new file you have just created, overwriting any previous data. *Make sure you have the correct number of rows according to the file from Wireless Logic*

Your file should look something like the below, with ALL cells filled in. There should be 15 serial numbers per Box No. There are 15 trackers per small box (column B)

  5. Now that you have saved the excel spreadsheet containing the data we need to import, navigate to POL Admin here - http://192.168.41.10:8088/pol-admin/tracker/new
  6. Open the “Tracker – In Stock” tab from the left-hand menu, and then select “Upload Tracker CSV” in the top right.
  7. Navigate to Prohire Software Systems Ltd\Prohire Software Systems Ltd Team Site - Documents\Support Team\Tracker\Import List and browse to the file you have just saved with today’s date.
  8. If you have followed this guide correctly, the file will import successfully. You will also receive a prompt confirming how many devices have been imported. If the file fails to upload, please seek help from Rhys or Mike.

As a rule of thumb, it's good to keep the "Import List" folder tidy, therefore please move any files older than 6 months into the "$Archive" folder.
